Overview

The Hydrology & Climate Change Impacts Laboratory (HYCLIC-LAB) promotes researches aimed to understand, quantify and analyze the hydrological cycle and to measure hydrological processes. The mission of HYCLIC-LAB is to explore the role of water in the Earth system and improve the prediction of the multi time-space scale response of hydrology to anthropogenic and/or natural climate change. The research area of the HYCLIC-LAB focus on hydrology, ecohydrology, hydroinformatics, remote sensing and GIS, with special emphasis on land surface hydrological processes modeling and their interactions with the atmosphere, hydrological control on biodiversity and vegetation, statistical hydrology, trend analysis and hydrological extremes, water resources assessment, rainfall and river monitoring, climate changes, early warning systems and flood management, Natural Based Solutions and Green Infrastructures. The HYCLIC-LAB is particularly active in hydrological monitoring and is equipped with a series of advanced sensors. Real-time data from our precipitation gauge network, monitoring the area of Palermo (Italy), is freely available at our DATA page. Other data are available upon request.
